IT wants to be DevOps and Agile

There is a trend in IT departments at large corporate firms are moving towards DevOps, Agile, some faster than others. Compare to the big banks, insurance companies, and healthcare conglomerates, smaller technology companies have led the innovation race.
Technology companies are disrupting every industry and embraced the state of the technologies that are bigger, faster, and cheaper to deliver innovative products and services. Most IT departments of big companies I've worked on projects for in recent years have ramped up the move to be competitive, imitating the organization and methodologies of startups and high tech.
Based on my professional experiences thus far, the transitioning has not been quick or easy at all. What I've observed works best is when senior management in IT makes a concerted effort to sell the vision to the business side stakeholders to get them on board, to see the benefits of the new approach.

Re-skilling existing teams will be necessary to maintain agility, so it’s important to construct a team of employees who can handle the peaks and valleys of business.
